The passing of both the US & Aus climate bills is an important signal of change, showing that years of inaction & division in these 2 major global emitters are giving way to decisive action. While neither bill goes far nor quick enough, they are great springboards for more action

Congratulations to BRF author Jamie Hawker, aged 15, who has received The Diana Award:BRF is delighted to congratulate Jamie Hawker, aged 15, who has been honoured with The Diana Award for going above and beyond in his daily life to create and sustain positive change. Jamie co-authored: Changing the Climate: Applying the Bible in a climate emergency (BRF, 2021) with his parents, Debbie and David Hawker. Established in memory of Diana, Princess of Wales, the award is given out by the charity of the same name and has the support of both her sons, The Duke of Cambridge and The Duke of Sussex. The Diana Award is the highest accolade a young person can achieve for social action or humanitarian efforts.Jamie was nominated for his environmental activities. Written during the first lockdown in 2020, the aim of Changing the Climate is to encourage people to take action on climate justice. It includes over 130 tips from Jamie on how to care for creation.Jamie has given talks about plastic waste and climate change in his community, and he has been interviewed in churches and online. He personally does what he can to reduce his carbon emissions.Tessy Ojo CBE, CEO of The Diana Award, says: ‘We warmly congratulate our new Diana Award recipients from the UK and across the world who are changemakers for their generation. It is especially poignant as we remember Princess Diana 25 yearson. We know by receiving this honour they will inspire more young people to get involved in their communities and begin their own journey as active citizens.’The Diana Award Award recipients were put forward by adults who knew the young people in a professional capacity and recognised their efforts as a positive contribution to society. Through a rigorous nomination process, these nominators had to demonstrate the nominee’s impact in five key areas: vision, social impact, inspiring others, youth leadership, and service journey. ...
